New Addition To Pendleton Training Facility

A training facility at Camp Pendleton, called the Infantry Immersion Trainer, was recently expanded and unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.

The existing facility is now 120,000 square-feet larger, costing $30 million. The Infantry Immersion Trainer, which is set up to look like an afghan village, features mock homes, villages and buildings along with walls that can be moved, in order to provide a realistic version of the geography troops might encounter in Afghanistan, according to a press release.

Also mentioned in the press release is the use of virtual screens and windows, as well as video recording to be used for critiques after the simulations.
