The USS Coronado is slated to arrive at Naval Base San Diego on Monday, March 6.
The Coronado Eagle & Journal reports the Navy's littoral combat ship is scheduled to round Point Loma at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, and stream under the Coronado Bridge approximately a half-hour later, before arriving at Pier 5 at Naval Base San Diego.
According to a news release by U.S. Pacific Fleet Public Affairs, the Coronado has made port visits in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Colombia, Panama; and Mexico en route to San Diego.
Cmdr. John Kochendorfer, Coronado Crew 203 commanding officer, said of the journey:
"I couldn't be more proud of my crew as they've conquered every obstacle in their way and thrived.<br><br>"From day one when we departed Mobile, the crew has performed superbly and sailed to Coronado with expert seamanship. They've proven that they can accomplish anything."
