The USS Coronado is slated to arrive at Naval Base San Diego on Monday, March 6.
The Coronado Eagle & Journal reports the Navy's littoral combat ship is scheduled to round Point Loma at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, and stream under the Coronado Bridge approximately a half-hour later, before arriving at Pier 5 at Naval Base San Diego.
According to a news release by U.S. Pacific Fleet Public Affairs, the Coronado has made port visits in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Colombia, Panama; and Mexico en route to San Diego.
Cmdr. John Kochendorfer, Coronado Crew 203 commanding officer, said of the journey:
"I couldn't be more proud of my crew as they've conquered every obstacle in their way and thrived.
"From day one when we departed Mobile, the crew has performed superbly and sailed to Coronado with expert seamanship. They've proven that they can accomplish anything."
