An MV- 22B Osprey attached to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing out of MCAS Miramar made a hard landing near Creech Air Force Base in Nevada on August 26. While all crew members were able to escape safely, the subsequent fire on the Osprey made the aircraft unrepairable, and a total loss costing $2 million.
