A winter storm has caused power outages for 9,400 people this morning in San Diego. Meanwhile Southwest Airlines has canceled its flights at Lindbergh Field until 4 p.m.
Downed power lines have lead to power outages all across San Diego county. A spokesperson for SDG&E says most of the customers who have lost power are in La Mesa, East Alpine, Poway and Escondido.
High winds were cited as the reason Southwest Airlines chose to temporarily cancel its flights. Katie Jones, with the regional airport authority, said all other airlines have continued to operate at Lindbergh Field.
"There are some severe weather issues all over the county," she said. "So I know they're having delays in Phoenix and Houston, and your flight may be delayed because of those weather conditions. But the airlines here, except for Southwest, are operating normally."
She said Southwest customers who booked their trips online can reschedule at Southwest.com.
