  • The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Breakfast is hosted annually by the North San Diego County NAACP, in partnership with the City of Oceanside. This annual event brings together a collaborative of community and spiritual leaders, elected officials, and citizens who collectively believe in the principles advocated by Dr. King.   • Give Blood, Get Rugby! Did you know that sports fans and blood donors aren’t the only ones passionate about helping their communities? The San Diego Blood Bank and the San Diego Legion are no different: the two teams joined forces in 2020 and have been successful in promoting blood donations within the community. Blood is essential to help individuals survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation.
