  • “Life is Art, Paint your Dreams” This creative workshop will provide all supplies and direction for creating your very own vision board collage. The beginning of a new year is always a great time to get clear on our goals and plans and start the process of manifesting what we want in our lives. In this workshop we will use the medium of collage to create your very own unique vision board, a collection of images and words that will be both a reminder and an inspiration for you to stick to your goals and create your dreams. To create our stunning artworks, I will provide an imaginative and thoughtfully curated selection of national geographic magazines as well as magazines from a variety of genres, including nature, yoga, outdoors, adventure, astrology, home & Gardens and more. Class will begin with a few minutes of meditation and journaling to set the inspiration and thoughts in motion before we enjoy browsing through magazines to collect our imagery. Feel free to bring your own magazines or imagery that inspires you. • Recently widowed, Peg tends to the 40 acres of native prairie that rises behind her rural Wisconsin home. Her solitary days are interrupted only by visits from Ryan, a family friend with a checkered past. When her late husband’s footlocker is ransacked in her barn, she places a call to the local authorities—unwittingly setting off a series of events that will forever change their lives. As Peg and Ryan fight to regain each others trust, they learn how to help one another in a new and meaningful way and how to forge a sense of hope in a time when it feels like everyone’s way of life is in danger of disappearing. • "Non-Objective Lessons: Explorations in San Diego Abstraction" celebrates the region’s long-standing tradition of abstraction, experimentation, and boundary-pushing artistic inquiry. Drawing inspiration from influential figures such as John Baldessari, Robert Irwin and Bob Matheny, the exhibition brings together artists who continue San Diego’s legacy of conceptual play, non-objective exploration, and material rebellion. Through assemblage, minimalism, and unexpected interventions, the featured works examine the tension between structure and improvisation, and the joyful misbehavior that defines much of the city’s avant-garde. The exhibition features works by a mix of artists affiliated with Space 4 Art and Art Produce, as well as other local practitioners who engage in abstract and non-objective art-making. This exhibit features artists Melissa Walter, Xavier Dionne, Joey Thurston, Kaori Fukuyama, Jonny Hoolko, Jennifer de Poyen, May-ling Martinez, Lynn Susholtz, Andrew Alcasid, Meghan Augustine, Elijah Rubottom, Brennan Hubbell, Thomas DeMello, and Michael James Armstrong.
