The annual winter event, Botanic Wonderland at San Diego Botanic Garden, has become a local favorite tradition. The nighttime festivities provide families and friends the opportunity to stroll through the garden to enjoy outdoor holiday lighting and activities in a safe and carefully organized setting. Botanic Wonderland transforms the garden into a unique, winter experience and we are excited to welcome you and your group to enjoy it during an exclusive evening! Santa Claus will be on site from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for photo-taking with children. Due to the anticipated large number of guests, we will have someone assigned to help with crowd control and keep guests moving. Letters to Santa writing activity for children to enjoy. A verity of other hands-on activities will be available. Professional carolers will stroll through the garden 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. entertaining guests by singing holiday favorites and adding to the overall ambiance of the seasonal event. There will be seating on the Gazebo Lawn near the food trucks. Each night different food vendors will be selling hot, freshly prepared food as well as hot and cold drinks. During the pandemic, it felt as if the world went digital all at once, but San Diego Public Library would like to invite you to switch gears back into the analog world of handwriting as we begin hosting in-person programming once again.  We will be hosting Christian Michaels from The Writing Den as he facilitates a small group in chatting, writing, and sharing what's on your mind as you put pens to paper. The Writing Den is a nonprofit organization that helps those in need create, communicate, and connect through the power of handwriting.
