  • Mexico in a Bottle Returns to San Diego! Join us Sunday, October 5th at Bread & Salt Gallery as we celebrate the great spirits of Mexico. Enjoy sipping agave spirits and learning producer stories, processes and more. There are also selections of Mexican whiskey, rum, gin, liqueurs and more. Restaurants will be serving up delicious bites paired with cocktail sips as art and music surround you. The story of mezcal and these other elixirs is about more than alcohol. Each bottle contains a piece and flavor of Mexican culture, and is a living link to history, tradition, food, art, and music – life and death all in a bottle. • Open Studio: Farshid Bazmandegan Saturday, January 10, 2026 | 5 p.m. — 7 p.m. Location: CH Visual Art Studio (In the Administration building across from the Museum) The California Center for the Arts Museum invites the public to a culminating open studio with Farshid Bazmandegan, marking the conclusion of his 2025—26 artist residency. This open studio offers visitors an opportunity to engage with Bazmandegan’s research, materials, and work in progress, providing insight into an evolving practice shaped by memory and displacement. During the residency, Bazmandegan has been developing a new body of work rooted in a childhood memory of a painting of a black horse that once hung in his family home in Iran. Through sculpture and digital media, he explores fantasy as a method for navigating exile and imagining return. The works on view during the open studio represent an active phase of inquiry rather than a finished presentation. Bazmandegan will continue to develop this project over the coming year, with the completed body of work to be presented as part of the 2025–26 In Studio Artist Residency exhibition, opening June 5, 2026. Release Year: 2025 Language: Arabic Starring: Amer Hlehel, Clara Khoury, Motaz Malhees, Nesbat Serhan, Saja Kilani Synopsis: "The Voice Of Hind Rajab" is an emotional and innovative hybrid of documentary and drama that recounts the heart-wrenching story of a six-year-old Palestinian girl killed during the Israel-Gaza war. In January 2024, Hind was trapped for hours in a car after it came under fire, squeezed between the bodies of her aunt, uncle and cousins, leaving her the sole survivor. For hours she remained in contact with Red Crescent volunteers, who navigated a maze of military and governmental approvals in an attempt to reach her. The film transcends traditional cinema, becoming a powerful act of resistance and a vital work of memory. Filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania delivers a haunting testament to the tragic reality of war, resonating with audiences long after the credits roll. Digital Gym Cinema on Facebook / Instagram
