  • What is an Intimacy Speakeasy? A safe, fun space to learn how to "speak easier" about intimacy. By intimacy, I mean the emotional, mental, and physical parts of our relationships that are often the hardest to talk about. What to Expect: A gathering with teaching, small-group conversations, spot-coaching, and fun — all inside an actual speakeasy in Pacific Beach. The event is 5-7 p.m., but you are free to stay on and enjoy the Captain’s Quarters speakeasy (which also has food). Your Host: Dr. Jenn Gunsaullus is a sociologist, intimacy speaker, relationship coach, and author who has been leading conversations around intimacy for more than 30 years. Fee: First drink is free! The fee is $25, but you get to choose from two featured cocktails or a mocktail, thanks to our generous hosts at Captain’s Quarters. You must RSVP and pay in advance at the link provided. IRL Movie Club is a national, non-profit organization on a mission to strengthen democracy through the power of shared experience and dialogue. By design, the organization is low tech, grass roots, and community driven. Instead of a traditional Q&A after the show, members are encouraged to say hello to their seatmates, stick around to chat about the film, and spill out into their local neighborhoods for coffee, dinner, and connection. To make it as accessible as possible, the organization also subsidizes tickets and only charges $5 per person.
