  • Join us in the woodshop for this 5-hour brush making workshop! We will cover shop safety and how to use various machines such as the bandsaw, spindle sander, edge sander, and drill press. You will hone your carving skills by adding curves and texture to your piece. We will build upon machine knowledge and cover wood shaping using various hand tools such as rasps, files, spoke shaves, hand planes, chisels, and gouges. We will also discuss design principles, functional applications, the properties of wood, and brush materials such as Tampico fibers. At the end of the workshop, each student will leave with a unique brush to be used in the home, the shop, or as a beautiful sculpture or gift. Materials are provided. We recommend students bring their own eye protection, ear protection & apron. Aprons for sale here. No experience necessary. Ages 18+ welcome.   • Make Tiny Ceramics! Join me in the land of miniatures. You will learn how and get to create tiny pottery on a mini pottery wheel. No previous pottery experience necessary. In this 2-hour class, you will learn to create 1-3 tiny pots and can add some color if you would like to. You will learn how to center the clay and open it up to form tiny pots, bowls, or plates. This class is a great way to learn the basics of a wheel on a small scale. It is less intimidating and is an accessible way to throw and center clay. Grab a friend or family member who’s been curious about ceramics and come join me in creating tiny pottery. This class includes clay, under glazing and firing of the clay. The clay cannot be taken home at the time of the class because it must be kiln fired. The turn around is 1-2 weeks for drying, glazing, and firing before you pick up your miniature creations.   • Learn to cook your own nourishing broth! In this 1.5 hour workshop you will learn, from beginning to end, the best process to making many variations of French stocks. We will also discuss Asian approaches to making broths to better inform us and spawn creativity when we are deciding on the ideal broth for any recipe in the kitchen. Chef Charlie of Lineage Meals will demonstrate and discuss the process of making an organic bone broth from scratch. Students will engage in conversation regarding flavors, taste the broth, and take their own 32 oz jar home!
