The North Coast Symphony Orchestra presents National Treasures, a concert featuring guitarist Jose Rodriguez, on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at the San Dieguito United Methodist Church. Soloist Rodriguez, an award winning guitarist, will perform the popular "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo. The concert also includes Jean Sibelius' Symphony No. 2 and Manuel de Falla's Spanish Dance No. 1.

Broadway’s master songman, Mandy Patinkin, accompanied by Adam Ben-David on piano, will bring his newest theatre concert Mandy Patinkin in Concert: "Being Alive", to Balboa Theatre on Tuesday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. The set list is a marriage of many of Mandy’s favorite Broadway and classic American tunes, from Randy Newman to Stephen Sondheim, from Harry Chapin to Rufus Wainwright. Join us for a fun day of tiling mosaics and fixing up the Colegio La Esperanza elementary school in Tijuana nine miles south of the San Ysidro border. We meet at the H Street trolley parking area in Chula Vista to carpool to the school designed by James Hubbell. From the organizers: THE EXPERIENCE> Departing Dystopia is best described as an Interactive, Post-Apocalyptic, Cyberpunk, EDM, Live Musical reimagining of the classic tale of Romeo & Juliet. The experience is made up of a wide variety of performance art installations including elements of dance, satire, cabaret, and theater… all of this is choreographed to a loosely scripted storyline, accompanied by an epic audio visual extravaganza… The audience won’t just sit in a seat and stare at performers… They will be standing, walking, dancing and being encouraged to participate in the performance as our slightly insane host/bartender/unreliable narrator guides them through the experience on a set timeline. THE SCHEDULE> Departing Dystopia is a two-part experience. Second Reality is the Main Show (8-10 p.m.) which is described above. The Unification is the After Party (10-2 a.m.). Media Arts Center San Diego (MACSD) In partnership with University of California San Diego (UCSD) will offer Free workshops for Beat Making, composing, and podcast classes at the City Heights Idea Lab starting in July. The Beat Making class will have a stipend of $300 per session and film composing will have a stipend of $150. Tanya is a certified yoga teacher (RYT 200) and sees her mission in bringing joy and equilibrium to people through the Mind-Body-Spirit connection.
