Bernard J. Baars, PhD is a former Senior Fellow in Theoretical Neurobiology at the Neurosciences Institute in San Diego. He is best known as the originator of the global workspace theory, a concept of human cognitive architecture and consciousness. Dr. Baars will focus on the empirical evidence for the existence of this state and suggest a principled method to study the psychophysics of silent consciousness. As Wilder Penfield wrote, “cortex is the organ of mind.” If unable to join in person, please click the following link to join the zoom webinar.
