The course, led by Duke Windsor, will focus on a simple approach to foundation drawing and cover various projects, including working with geometric shapes, still life, and local sketching. Students will learn how to apply their newfound skills to school projects and create art pieces for shows and competitions. Drawing I will delve into line drawing, contour drawing, and the basics of portraiture, with all students completing finished works suitable for framing and exhibition by the end of the course. Participants in the workshop will have the opportunity to develop better observational skills, improve hand-eye coordination, work with short and long poses, experiment with mark-making using charcoal, explore lines, shapes, and values, and learn to draw in a loose and expressive manner. Megan Nguyen started taking classical piano lessons at the age of 6, and hasn't stepped away from the keys since! She discovered her love for singing early on, and later started gigging, writing, and teaching while attending college at UCSD. Her music style is a mixture of pop, soul, with classical and jazz influences. Megan has been a piano and voice teacher since 2015, specializing in classical performance and theory. She teaches through her private studio and is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California. She is also an instructor at Kalabash School of Music and Arts, Musikey, and Coronado Arts Academy. Cardiff Farmer's Market is excited to announce a San Elijo Lagoon Clean Up in collaboration with community cleanup organization We Clean Trails. Taking place on Saturday, February 3rd at 10 a.m., the special event will bring together environmental enthusiasts to preserve the ecological health of the San Elijo Lagoon by removing trash from our footpaths and roadways. Participants will gather at the Cardiff 101 Information booth at 10 a.m. for a safety briefing before starting a cleanup loop around Manchester Avenue and the San Elijo Lagoon.
