Led by park volunteer and horticultural enthusiast Bill Edwards, the free tours leave from the Visitors Center at 10:00 a.m. Modeled after a famous garden in Seville, Spain, Balboa Park’s historic Alcazar Garden features regularly changing floral displays, colorful tile work, box hedged walkways, a pergola, and two fountains. The entire garden is nicely shaded by a variety of trees from around the world, including the massive fig tree towering over one of the most photographed areas in the park.
