From the KPBS weekend arts preview: Visual art | Bed Bud Flora, AYI Shop and Art School Dropout are co-hosting a unique art exhibition spotlighting the work of regional floral designers and ceramicists. Floral artists include Bed Bud, The Flower Boy, Trim and Tru Design, Yeritza Marie and more. Ceramicists include Naked Ceramics, Art School Dropout, Perro Y Arena, Lollipots and more. The San Diego Watercolor Society proudly presents “Scintillation”, juried by award-winning artist, Robin Erickson. The water-based media exhibition runs July 28 to August 31, 2024, at our Gallery in The ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station. The Opening Reception is Friday, August 2, 5 - 8 p.m. with over 95 ready-to-hang original paintings plus refreshments and the fellowship of other art enthusiasts. The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors on Tuesday, April 1, approved the first-quarter amendment to the 2025-2026 biennial budget, significantly increasing the Energy Department’s capital spending from the original allocation of $813 million in 2025 to approximately $970 million.

ArtWalk Liberty Station is back for its 19th year, bringing a weekend-long celebration of arts and culture to San Diego’s Liberty Station, August 3-4. The festival celebrates creativity from both sides of the border, with more than 175 artists coming from across several states and Mexico to show and sell their artwork, including paintings, photography, glass and ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. For families, there will also be a KidsWalk hands-on art experience within the event, with a variety of kids activities. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 4. ArtWalk Liberty Station is located at 2751 Dewey Road.
