  • Saturday, May 6 from 1 – 4 p.m. OR Saturday, July 29 from 1:30 – 5 p.m. Have you wanted to dive into the mindful, rhythmic, magic of weaving? In this rigid heddle loom workshop, students will learn to weave their own unique handwoven fabric in both plain weave (a classic, simple pattern) and clasped weft (where two wefts interconnect, creating unique patterns). Each student will learn the basics of how the loom works, a variety of simple weaving techniques, plain weave, clasped weft weaving, and finally, hemstitching for a finished piece. Students will weave a length of handwoven fabric of their choosing using the techniques in-class. Looms will be pre-warped in this class and students will weave together on Ashford Looms with 100% cotton fiber for a fiber-friendly afternoon.   • 4 Saturdays - May 13, 20, 27 & June 10 from 10 a.m. – Noon, except last class of the series is from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. In this 4-week class, instructor Lydia Kardos will teach the basics of handbuilding to create functional and sculptural ceramics. Working with mid fire clay, we will explore various methods of building forms and decorative techniques with glazes. Students will complete various projects throughout the course, learning the basics of clay materials and handbuilding — skills necessary to work independently in open studio. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors. All materials provided. We will guide you step-by-step through the hand knitting process to create one. This workshop requires no needles or knitting experience! PLEASE NOTE: Classic Chunky Knit Blanket comes with 5 skeins. Chunky Herringbone Knit Blanket comes with 6 skeins. You will be able to choose your yarn colors when you arrive for your workshop.
