  • Eco-Artists: Exploring, Science, Technology & Art Summer Camp for 3rd-5th Grade August 5-August 9, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Location: Writer's Ink, Liberty Station Register here Delve into the world of science, technology, art and environmental activism this summer! Using iPads DSLR cameras and XR technology, we will create abstract and innovative imagery while exploring the marvels of science. Learn how to use macro photography to capture the interactions between oil, water and color, experiment with the relationship between light and shadow and learn about the first printmaking technique. You will also explore the role art and science can play in protecting our planet. Equipment and snacks will be provided. This camp is open to 3rd-5th grade.

  • Cultural Forces, the cultural arm of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, brings seven world class artists, professional musicians before the war, now active-duty soldiers, for a music tour in the United States to thank the American people. The group is composed of two bandura players, an opera singer, a violinist, a pianist, a country singer, and a poet. Artists’ repertoire presents renditions of a wide variety of music, from Ukrainian and world classics to covers of popular hits and country tunes, featuring the traditional Ukrainian string instrument, the bandura. There will be an opportunity for interaction between the audience and the artists. Together we will get a better sense of logical and practical craft works, as well as how to use the broom for spiritual and emotional wellbeing. Everyone will end the session with their own hand made broom/besom. Each person will learn how to use and care for their broom as a household tool and expand their awareness into the ritual of cleansing spaces. Ages 12+ years and up is recommended. Hours of operation are Friday 4-7 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. We encourage artistic freedom! You can alter the painting to fit your style and use any of our colors. Things to know: We require a 48-hour notice for cancellations/rescheduling. Refunds must be requested within 3 days of purchase. After 3 days a credit will be given.
