San Diego’s only beachfront amusement and entertainment center, will host its second annual park-wide hiring festival, Jobapalooza. The largest hiring fair in Mission Beach, this event will connect job seekers with local employers from a variety of industries, including hospitality, service, ride operators and more. Belmont Park tenants will have tables/booths setup along the Adrenaline Alley/Food Court area and interviews will be conducted at Coaster Terrace. Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with employers, learn about available positions, and submit resumes and applications on-site! Belmont Park’s goal is to give everyone coming to the hiring fest a feel for the amazing culture that working at mission beach, and specifically at Belmont Park offers its employees. It's going to be a full day of fun with a DJ, food for potential employees, a swag bag with merchandise from tenants, and more! The Alt Protein Project works to promote alternatives to animal proteins, as a means to create more sustainable, equitable, and safe food systems. This event is a regional summit aimed at education, networking, and interdisciplinary community building within the food systems space. There will be multiple panel discussions, student and external organizations tabling, food tastings, and more. The event is free to the public and will be a great opportunity for community members to learn more about these pressing issues, and how to get involved - even build careers - in alternative proteins and sustainable food systems. The Green Living Tour is a bi-monthly, one-hour tour at Solana Center's home base in Encinitas that showcases sustainability in action. On the tour, our knowledgeable Eco Team docents walk you through our worm bins, greywater systems, innovative compost projects, tool lending library, water-wise garden, and more simple, DIY, climate-friendly solutions. Find inspiration for your at-home sustainability projects, learn more about Solana Center and our programs, and meet other eco-stewards in your neighborhood! If you are interested in buying composting supplies or borrowing tools, our store and lending shed will be open. If you wish to make a purchase after the tour, we encourage you to buy your items online beforehand to ensure we will have the items in stock through here.
