Basquiat was and is still considered a ground-breaking artist in the neo-expressionism art movement. A young black artist, his artwork dealt with themes of racism, classism, colonialism, and other power structures and their effects on U.S. society.

For the first time in its 35-year history, San Diego Museum Month includes museums and cultural institutions in outside San Diego County.

This week of Summer Camp is all about book making & papercraft! In this 1-week camp, kids and teens will learn to make handmade paper, create an origami book, and diy zines, and beyond! Exploration + imagination meets hands-on crafting as campers push the bounds of this flexible medium to its limits. Students make fun projects to take home. This camp is recommended for children 11 years and up. OPTIONAL | Lunch Hour Supervision If there is a camp ending as ours begins and you need your child or teen transferred, let us know! If you’d like your child or teen to stay during the lunch hour, there’s a $25 fee for the week to cover the lunchtime gap. They can bring a lunch and have lunch with us with the option to do a fun craft after lunch, or head out to grab a lunch and head back to the studio to eat in a safe, welcoming space.
