  • Spreckels Organ Society – a non-profit organization curating concerts and performances in the heart of Balboa Park – is inviting the public for a one-of-a-kind Insiders Tour of the inner-workings of the iconic Spreckels Organ, as well as a special brunch, on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a continental brunch, on-stage seating, and an exclusive performance by San Diego Civic Organist Raúl Prieto Ramírez, who is also the Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society. Curator Dale Sorenson will begin with an introduction on the mechanics of the Spreckels Organ, followed by the “Insiders Tour” of the Spreckels Organ (tour requires guests to be able to navigate stairs and tight spaces). This annual event is the only time the public will be allowed into the windchest while the organ is playing.
