With a 30-year history of shows that delight audiences at both intimate venues and major theaters throughout the U.S. and Mexico, the ensemble tours its own show, Leyendas de Mexico/Legends of Mexico, while also collaborating with a Who’s Who of Mexican artists including Aida Cuevas, Pedro Fernandez, Ana Barbara and Angela Aguilar. Most recently Mariachi Garibaldi were featured performers for Camila Cabello’s Tiny Desk concert performing “La Buena Vida,” truly displaying that mariachi music transcends across all platforms. Including a production in 2017 of “Tale as Old as Time” from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast for the “mitú” network, went viral with over 16 million views! Grace Johnson is a Curator Emerita of Latin American Collections at the San Diego Museum of Man (now named Museum of Us). Johnson graduated with a BA in the Department of Anthropology and a MA in the Department of Latin American Studies from San Diego State University. She wrote the book Hecho en Mexico: Mexican Folk Art based on an exhibition she created while working at the Museum of Man.
