The San Diego Independent Scholars (SDIS) is proud to present a Works in Progress event led by Grace Johnson on March 21st at 1 p.m. at the North University Community Library.
Grace Johnson is a Curator Emerita of Latin American Collections at the San Diego Museum of Man (now named Museum of Us). Johnson graduated with a BA in the Department of Anthropology and a MA in the Department of Latin American Studies from San Diego State University. She wrote the book Hecho en Mexico: Mexican Folk Art based on an exhibition she created while working at the Museum of Man. Grace will use this book as the springboard for a discussion on the process of book publishing.

North University Community Library
The North University Community Library is located at Nobel and Judicial Drives, in the vicinity of 805. The library is in a park setting with a design for expansion when needed. Inside features include a children’s and storytelling area with a separate children/young adult librarian on site, an adult and young adult area, a computer lab with 14 computers and wireless access throughout the library, a self checkout station, two seminar meeting rooms, a separate Friends’ book store, a community/meeting room available after hours and a coffee kiosk in the vicinity of the entrance to the library.
