He was greatly looking forward to the warm audiences in Scottsdale, Lincoln, Bentonville, Huntsville, and La Jolla, and hopes to be able to be with them in the future. From Yunchan: “I am heartbroken that I will not be able to perform for you, and for any disappointment this has caused. Thank you for your understanding and your support, and please accept my profound apologies.” La Jolla Music Society is working on rescheduling the sold-out concert. Those with tickets may retain them and they will be valid for the new date if it is confirmed by the end of September 2023. At 18, South Korean Yunchan Lim has just made history as the youngest ever Gold Medal winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, wowing both the judges and the audience with his spectacular performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3. He’s been described as “a mind-blowing once-in-a-lifetime talent,” “a phenomenal talent,” and “the singular most spectacular talent I have ever seen” by seasoned concert pianists around the world.
