  • The Poway Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is pleased to announce the opening of its 2022-23 season with a rare performance by Misha Dichter, an acclaimed pianist of world renown. The concert will take place on November 20, 2022, at 4 p.m. at the Poway Center for Per-forming Arts. The concert will feature two concertos: Beethoven’s “Emperor Concerto” and Gershwin’s “Concerto in F”. Conductor John LoPiccolo said that "It’s a very rare event in the classical music world to have two concertos performed in a single evening, and to have Mr. Dichter join our orchestra for these two concertos is an exceptional honor.” To open the concert, the orchestra will play the bright and sparkling “Festive Overture” by Shostakovich. Mr. Dichter has performed and recorded with some of the most illustrious conductors of the 20th and 21st centuries and he appeared as soloist with some of the major orchestras in Europe and the USA.
