The first installment of this event will feature readings, an open mic, and a space to unite voices in solidarity with Palestine. We are honored to have Jason Magabo Perez and Karla Cordero co-hosting. Perez is an associate professor and director of ethnic studies at California State University San Marcos and is currently serving as the Poet Laureate of San Diego. Cordero is a Chicana poet, educator, author, and executive director of Glassless Minds, a 501 (c)(3) corporation that facilitates and fosters constructive emotional outlets and personal expression in an accepting and safe space for teenagers and young adults. The event will be held in person and broadcast on Instagram Live, ensuring that our message of peace and unity reaches as many hearts as possible.
