Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in eight counties in the state Sunday, including San Diego County.

The San Diego Housing Commission will continue to operate the center during the proposal and negotiation process.

The streak of rising prices began one day after the end of an 18-day streak of decreases totaling 19.6 cents that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Jan. 24, 2023.

The emergency declaration sought by the Orange County Transportation Authority will allow the agency to get up to $10 million in funding to help restore service on the rail line.

San Diego city officials breathed a sign of relief following lighter-than-anticipated rains that fell across the area.

Additional eggs are "currently developing behind the scenes," the aquarium said.

The announcement comes after a judge struck down San Diego's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, saying only the state can make that a requirement.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
