The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Sunday for the 27th consecutive day and 45th time in 46 days, increasing 1.8 cents to $3.791, its highest amount since Dec. 4, 2019.

San Diego County public health officials reported 421 new COVID-19 infections and 14 deaths Saturday, increasing the totals to 262,781 cases and 3,385 deaths as stadiums and theme parks have been cleared to reopen in California beginning April 1.

Strengthening onshore flow over San Diego County Saturday was expected to deepen the marine layer for progressively cooler weather into next week, the National Weather Service said.

Cue Health announced Friday it has received Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for over-the-counter sales of a COVID-19 test that the San Diego biotech company says can deliver results in about 20 minutes.

The announcement comes after a judge struck down San Diego's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, saying only the state can make that a requirement.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
