The Department of Defense has released the names of the six U.S. soldiers who died Tuesday when their helicopter crashed in Afghanistan. Killed were: Chief Warrant Officer 2 Randy L. Billings, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joshua B. Silverman, Sgt. Peter C. Bohler, Sgt. 1st Class Omar W. Forde, Staff Sgt. Jesse L. Williams, and Spc. Terry K. D. Gordon.

Two of the six soldiers killed in Tuesday's Black Hawk helicopter crash in Afghanistan have been identified as helicopter crew chief Chris Bohler, 29, and Staff Sgt. Jesse Lee Williams, 30.

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class James L. Smith, 38, died Dec. 11 of "natural causes" at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. Smith's unit had been deployed to Afghanistan.

Army Staff Sgt. Alex A. Viola, 29, died Nov. 17 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Viola, a Green Beret, was killed when his unit was hit by a roadside bomb. He is the second Green Beret to die in Afghanistan in less than a week.

Green Beret and Army Staff Sgt. Richard L. Vazquez, 28, died Nov. 13 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Vazquez suffered his fatal wounds when the enemy attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device, while he was on dismounted patrol in Panjwai, Afghanistan.
