Her new cook book, The Art of Simple Food II Recipes, Flavor and Inspiration from the New Kitchen to the Garden, includes more than 200 recipes that share her passion for the many delicious varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs that you can cultivate in your own kitchen garden or find at your local farmers’ market.
Waters has played a major role in the food revolution that is challenging the dominance of fast processed food, by reminding us of the delights of locally grown, natural or "slow" food.
Her ideas have spread to schools and restaurants around the nation and even to the White House garden.
Waters has been buying fresh ingredients for her Berkeley restaurant, Chez Panisse, from Chino Farms. The 50-acre farm, located in the middle of multi-million dollar homes, is family owned and it's fresh fruits and vegetables are in high demand at restaurants throughout Southern California.
