Inaugural San Diego Western Jamboree

The San Diego Western Jamboree is a celebration of agriculture, familial legacy, collective economics and literacy. The event will be hosted on S & S Friendly Ranch, a Black-Owned, Family-Owned venue. The Ranch houses farm animals; a garden; compose system, supports communal living and collective economics.

Attendees will be educated on the benefits of an agrarian lifestyle, family ownership and co-operative entrepreneurship. Event attendees will learn how the environment affects our food supply chain and nutrition; they will be provided with resources for home gardening and the opportunity to pick fresh produce from a regenerative garden. We will also host a youth authors pavilion which will include story time, authors from a diverse background will read from their books.

This event will give children and adults who live in inner-city communities the opportunity to engage in an agricultural environment by interacting with farm animals and touring the garden. The authors pavilion will promote literacy and the importance of representation.
