Join us in beautiful San Diego for a joyful community picnic as we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day!
Hosted by Down Syndrome Association of San Diego, DS Action, and GiGi's Playhouse, this special gathering is a day for our community to come together in celebration of people with Down syndrome. We invite individuals with Down syndrome, their families, friends, and supporters to join us for connection, joy, and togetherness.
What to Expect:
- A relaxed picnic in the park
- Music and dancing
- Family-friendly activities and games
- Time to connect, celebrate, and build community
- Lots of fun, laughter, and blue & yellow spirit!
World Down Syndrome Day (3/21) is recognized globally to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome and raise awareness about inclusion, advocacy, and the value of every person in our community. The date represents the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome.
Please bring your own food, beverages, picnic blankets, lawn chairs, and canopies or other items to help protect from the sun. Wear your brightest blue and yellow attire and join us as we celebrate abilities, accomplishments, and the incredible strength of our local Down syndrome community.
Whether you are a long-time member of one of our organizations or joining us for the first time, all are welcome.
