We’re taking you on a journey, through your body and through your mind! The refreshing world of Soap is proud to present a simply faboo night celebrating the reissue of "Soundtracks for Living," the debut album by the multinational 90s glambient lounge pop group The Gentle People, on Sunday, April 26 at San Diego’s Whistle Stop Bar. ‘Not to be missed’ is an understatement.
Originally released on Richard D. James and Grant Wilson-Claridge’s cult label Rephlex in 1997, their dreamy, subversive cocktail hour classic ‘Soundtracks for Living’ has been reissued at last by Swiss boutique label WRWTFWW in a new expanded edition featuring unreleased tracks and remixes, rejuvenated and ready to soundtrack new lives and new fondue parties.
Listening party kicks off the night at 9 p.m. After, very special guests Dougee Dimensional (of The Gentle People) & Bijou Clochard join resident Soap djs Crushed Peanut & EZ Du’ behind the decks to deliver an effervescent blend of international electronica, lounge pop, house, and more dance deep cuts & classics til lights!
DJs Dougee Dimensional and DJ Bijou Clochard pull from a massive vinyl collection that spans decades to provide listeners with an eclectic mix of rare disco, boogie, italo / electro synth, house, and funk (with dashes of psychedelic / glam rock, and nowave). Their sound is often influenced by their travels DJing around the world in cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, CDMX, Madrid, Tokyo, and Sydney.
rinse. relax. enjoy.
