SD Squares- San Diego Square Dance

Square Dance
SD Squares
Square Dance
Monday, July 20, 2026 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM
San Diego Central Public Library
All Ages
Free

San Diego Squares will be playing old-time fiddle tunes and calling dances that are perfect for beginners and experienced square dancers alike. Join us under the dome of Central Library's rooftop for dances called by local caller Megan Tresenriter, live music by the Bird Park Barn Burners, and a fun time with friends and neighbors. All dances are taught from scratch and every move is called, so you can jump in even if this is your first ever encounter with square dancing.

SD Squares offers free, beginner-friendly gender-neutral square dances open to all ages. This is an opportunity for people to experience joy and to connect to their community through movement and music. Social dancing has well-documented benefits for physical and mental wellbeing. Square dancing also engages memory, concentration, and learning through the practice of new movements and patterns.
