Once you’ve finished your story or essay, novel or memoir, it’s time to focus on the big little things — the editorial revisions that make all the difference to editors, agents, and readers. This three-hour workshop is for all writers who want to present their best work possible, from having a killer first sentence to a perfect title to seamless punctuation. We’ll talk about how to take an objective look at your work for content and style, how to find just the right title, and how to remedy the most common grammatical errors. You’ll learn hands-on techniques for polishing your work, and you’ll do in-class writing and editing exercises that will leave you with a next-level version of your project. Bring a work in progress, whether you’re just beginning or have a near-final draft, to work on in class.
