Throughout this February, indulge your curiosity at the Heritage of the Americas Museum with Chocolate in the Americas, a rich and immersive exhibition exploring the history, culture, and science of chocolate from its ancient origins to modern traditions. Through engaging informational displays, hands-on workshops, expert lectures, live demonstrations, and delicious tastings, visitors will discover how chocolate shaped civilizations across the Americas and continues to delight the world today. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a foodie, or simply a chocolate lover, this special exhibition offers a sweet and unforgettable museum experience. After your visit, stroll the beautiful gardens at the adjoining Water Conservation Garden. Make this a full day experience.

The Heritage of the Americas Museum, located on the campus of Cuyamaca College in Rancho San Diego, Calif., invites visitors of all ages to experience a journey through time. Five wings divide the building into areas of Natural History, Archaeology, Anthropology, Art and Education. The museum is an educational and cultural center featuring the prehistoric and historic art, culture, and natural history of the Americas. Artifacts and art serve as a documentation of life and civilization throughout the ages. In the words of the Museum's founder, Bernard Lueck, "To be lost and never found is to be nothing." Through the discovery of these antiquities, mankind is educated and inspired. We invite you to venture into our wonderful world of discovery. Hours Tuesday through Friday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday: noon to 4 p.m. Closed Sunday, Monday and selected holidays Admission Admission fees pay for daily operation and educational programs. The museum is privately funded and receives no funds from the college or the state.
