San Diego Blues Man Tomcat Courtney Opens Up About His Life And Career
San Diego music legend, Tomcat Courtney stops by KPBS to tell stories and sing some songs.

The San Diego Music Awards ceremony takes place Oct. 16 and once again, in the Best Blues artist category, musician, singer-songwriter Tomcat Courtney is nominated.

It's likely that none of the other nominees, in any category, have either the miles or the memories Courtney has chalked up in his career. The 84-year-old has traveled from the cotton fields of Texas, to dancing in a three-ring circus and along that road he found the music that has sustained his life.
