Iraqi Christians Seek Shelter in Neighboring Lands

Among the more than two and a half million Iraqis who have fled the country are a large number of Christians.

Many of them worked for Americans, and then were targeted for assassination. Some have found shelter in Syria, cared for by the many Christian churches in the country. Syria is one of the few places in the Middle East that has a thriving Christian community, but many Iraqi Christians are finding it tough this year.

Their money is running out, and they have no prospects for settlement in other countries.
