NPR's business news starts with Boeing trying to scuttle the Airbus deal.
Boeing today will formally protest the Pentagon's decision to award a major contract to European rival Airbus. The Air Force just gave a $35 billion contract for new aerial refueling planes to a group of companies that includes the U.S. manufacturer Northrop Grumman and Airbus. Boeing says the Pentagon's decision is flawed. It's asking the Government Accountability Office for a review. The GAO is the investigative arm of Congress. It can dismiss Boeing's challenge or uphold it and force another bidding competition. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
