One of the three Americans killed when their MC-12 reconnaissance aircraft crashed in Afghanistan on Jan. 10 has been identified as Chief Warrant Officer 3 Andrew McAdams, 27, of the Wyoming Army National Guard.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle was the first to name McAdams as one of those who died in the MC-12 crash.

Wyoming Military Department spokeswoman Deidre Forster confirmed to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that McAdams was indeed killed in the crash:

“All I can tell you is he was deployed with Detachment 53, Operational Support Airlift Command in October for a nine-month deployment.

"We have to wait for (the Department of Defense) to release further details.”
Randy White, a colleague of McAdams in the National Guard, started a fundraising effort on the website GoFundMe.com for McAdams's young family. White writes:
"Andrew leaves behind his Wife, 3 month old daughter, and countless people (whose) lives he touched. My intensions with this fundraiser is to collect whatever people are able to give, in order to support their daughter in whatever needs become necessary..."

As of Tuesday morning, White has been able to raise more than $13,000 for the McAdams family.
