Do you love jazz-pop artist Laufey? Did you know that she leads a book club? Well, now you can be a part of the Lauver book club community! Each session, be prepared to come ready to discuss one of Laufey’s picks––typically fiction with a whimsical bent. We’ll identify craft elements we love and discuss implementing those components in our own practices. This group will discuss one book per session, and will meet once every two months. Our first book will be "Interpreter of Maladies" by Jhumpa Lahirim, which we will discuss on August 5. The book is available at this link on Amazon, but we appreciate if you obtain it through your local book store or borrow it from your local library. The Sunset Cliffs Auto Show returns to Ocean Beach the weekend after Labor Day with classic and custom cars, live music from the Sandollar Band and The Juke$ Band, food trucks, and local vendors. The day kicks off with the OB Pancake Breakfast and includes a Kids Zone with Power Wheels Races, a Hot Wheels Derby, a 3-Point Competition, and Gulls Hockey for local residents, plus raffles with prizes worth more than $700 and dog adoptions on-site. The show wraps up with an Awards Ceremony, merch for sale, and a VIP Party. After the show, the fun continues with Ocean Beach after-parties and community booths.
