  • Twilight in the Park Free Concerts 2024 season is starting June 18 with a double header. Child Prodigy Kahlil Childs and his jazz ensemble start at 4 p.m. followed by “The Pretenders” tribute band Pretending Chrissie at 6:30 p.m. This season offers a variety of music genres including rock and roll, jazz, country, blues, mariachi and orchestral music. Listen to music in an iconic setting at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. The free concerts start June 18 through August 29, (no concert on June 20) every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy these summer concerts with family and friends and don’t forget to bring a picnic.   • The San Diego Veterans For Peace will be displaying its Hometown Arlington West Memorial on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th, 2024 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The display, made up of approximately 300 headstones, honor the men and women from Southern California who gave their lives during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
