Over the past decade, jazz pianist and Origin Records recording artist Danny Green has earned recognition as a bandleader and as a composer with a gift for spinning absorbing narratives. Green’s growing portfolio of vibrant sounds – an enchanting mix of jazz, classical, and Brazilian rhythms – has captured the attention of critics around the world. Green has earned two San Diego Music awards for Best Jazz Album and an additional award for Best Jazz Artist. His long-time trio includes bassist Justin Grinnell and drummer Julien Cantelm, noteworthy musicians in their own right, and together they have developed a nearly psychic connection as they perform Green’s original compositions and jazz standards. Niki de Saint Phalle in the 1960s is the first exhibition to survey the experimental work of French American artist Niki de Saint Phalle, which is currently on view at MCASD’s Flagship location in La Jolla. The day will include a stop at Saint Phalle’s only sculpture park in the U.S., Queen Califia’s Magical Circle, and a specially curated picnic lunch. A Beautiful Way to Honor Your Loved Ones The Elizabeth Hospice Hosts Butterfly Release Ceremony on May 1 Everyone in the community is invited to attend Wings of Hope, hosted by The Elizabeth Hospice, on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m.. This event will take place at the California Center for the Arts, located at 340 N. Escondido Blvd in Escondido. Attendees will have the opportunity to honor and celebrate in a beautiful way the special people who have touched their lives. Admission is free. Attendees will receive a butterfly for release, listen to live music, hear uplifting messages from The Elizabeth Hospice’s grief support team and enjoy sweet treats. Maxable, a team of San Diego-based Accessory Dwelling Unit experts, is set to host California’s first ever citywide ADU Tour and Expo on Saturday and Sunday, June 11 & 12 in San Diego. The two-day event will feature an Expo with speaker presentations on Saturday June 11 from 9-2 p.m. at Marston Middle School (3799 Clairemont Drive, San Diego 92117), and a citywide tour of ADUs throughout San Diego on Sunday, June 12 from 10-2 p.m. For Saturday’s expo, Maxable is bringing in a host of knowledgeable professionals in the ADU space to educate attendees on the latest regulations, budgets, planning, timelines and more.
