The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) San Diego Chapter is bringing back its highly anticipated NKBA San Diego Kitchen & Bath Tour on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, offering design enthusiasts, homeowners, industry professionals and anyone planning a remodel the opportunity to step inside five exceptional private residences throughout San Diego County. The self-guided tour will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will showcase thoughtfully designed kitchens and bathrooms created by some of San Diego’s most talented local designers, remodelers and industry professionals. The five homes featured on this year’s tour are located in Chula Vista, La Mesa, Kensington and Scripps Ranch, giving attendees the opportunity to experience a variety of architectural styles, design approaches, materials and solutions in real residential settings. Each home on the tour offers a unique perspective on kitchen and bath design. Attendees will see everything from custom cabinetry and statement islands to luxury appliances, innovative plumbing fixtures, distinctive surfaces and carefully considered lighting and details. Several of the homes feature products from leading kitchen and bath manufacturers and suppliers, providing attendees with the opportunity to see how today’s products perform within complete, professionally designed spaces. Designers and participating industry partners will be available throughout the tour to discuss the design process, materials, products and challenges involved in creating each space. The tour guide will provide information about each residence, including the design vision and products featured in the home, allowing attendees to learn more about the design decisions behind each project. Whether visitors are preparing for a renovation, gathering ideas for a future project or simply appreciate exceptional residential design, the NKBA San Diego Kitchen & Bath Tour offers inspiration that can’t be replicated in a showroom. Margaritaville Hotel San Diego is inviting guests to leave paradise behind this Halloween season as LandShark Bar & Grill transforms into “Lost Temple Tavern,” a haunted jungle bar running from Saturday, October 10 through Saturday, October 31, 2026. Set within the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, Lost Temple Tavern will transport guests to an abandoned tropical outpost overtaken by twisted vines, ancient relics and mysterious forces lurking deep within the jungle. The immersive Halloween transformation will blend Margaritaville’s classic tropical getaway with eerie décor and spooky surprises. Guests can also enjoy tropical cocktails and island-inspired food specials available for purchase. The experience will also feature immersive entertainment and interactive elements throughout the run, with additional mystical and character-driven experiences currently being explored. While LandShark Bar & Grill will continue serving breakfast, lunch and dinner during its regular operating hours, the Lost Temple Tavern transformation will be especially immersive after dark. On Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 7:30 p.m., a live DJ will add to the nighttime atmosphere with music and entertainment. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume and ready to venture into the unknown. Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego is bringing its 12th Annual Cornhole Tournament back to Del Mar Dog Beach on Saturday, September 26! This fun, high-energy beach fundraiser brings together local businesses, young professionals and community members for a day of cornhole, food, local beer, music and friendly competition—all to support thousands of kids across North County. Individual teams are now just $300, and VIP spectator tickets are also available for those who want to come hang out and support the cause.
