  • San Diego’s original fine art festival, Mission Fed ArtWalk, will fill the streets of San Diego’s Little Italy district with more than 250 fine artists, four music stages, interactive art for families, food and fun, Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, 2026. This year, the 42nd annual event will bring a weekend-long celebration of arts and culture to San Diego’s Little Italy. Mission Fed ArtWalk attracts 100,000 art collectors and visitors from all over the country to purchase art from established and emerging artists during the two-day festival. The event features artists from every medium of art, including painting, sculpture, glass work, photography, fine jewelry and more. After browsing and purchasing one-of-a-kind works of art, directly from the artists, attendees can enjoy four stages of live music, interactive art experiences, street food, family-friendly art projects at KidsWalk and more. This spring tradition is brought to San Diego by the same team that brings ArtWalk @ Liberty Station to the ARTS DISTRICT at Liberty Station (this year, Aug. 1-2, 2026) and ArtWalk Carlsbad to North County (Sept. 19-20, 2026), along with the fourth year of their newest event, Bella Vita Fest – a mix of chalk art and Italian wine (October 2026). Each of ArtWalk San Diego’s festivals support their non-profit partner, ArtReach San Diego, an organization aimed at increasing equity in visual arts education in schools throughout San Diego County by delivering free or low-cost workshops to schools that have no other resources for art, focusing on Title One Schools. Many of the programs ArtReach offers are provided at no cost to schools. For more information on ArtWalk San Diego and its programs, visit www.artwalksandiego.org. • Warwick's, in partnership with Writer's Symposium by the Sea, will host Rick Steves as he discusses and signs the new paperback edition of his book, "On the Hippie Trail: Istanbul to Kathmandu and the Making of a Travel Writer." Since 1973, Rick Steves has spent about 100 days a year exploring Europe. His mission: to empower Americans to have European trips that are fun, affordable, and culturally broadening. A New York Times bestselling author, Rick produces a guidebook series, a public television series, and a public radio show, and he organizes small-group tours that take over 30,000 travelers to Europe annually. He does all of this with the help of more than 100 well-traveled staff members at Rick Steves' Europe in Edmonds, WA (near Seattle). When not on the road, Rick is active in his church and with advocacy groups focused on economic and social justice, drug policy reform, and ending hunger. What's the ideal vacation for a professional traveler? For Rick, it's to play his piano, relax at his family cabin in the Cascade Mountains, and spend time with family and friends at home in Edmonds. A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER—Now with a new preface and postscript! Stow away with Rick Steves for a glimpse into the unforgettable moments, misadventures, and memories of his 1978 journey on the legendary Hippie Trail. In the 1970s, the ultimate trip for any backpacker was the storied "Hippie Trail" from Istanbul to Kathmandu. A 23-year-old Rick Steves made the trek, and like a travel writer in training, he documented everything along the way: jumping off a moving train, making friends in Tehran, getting lost in Lahore, getting high for the first time in Herat, battling leeches in Pokhara, and much more. The experience ignited his love of travel and forever broadened his perspective on the world. This book contains edited selections from Rick's journal and travel photos with a 45-years-later preface and postscript reflecting on how the journey through Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Nepal changed his life. You know Rick Steves. Now discover the adventure of a lifetime that made him the travel writer he is today. • "Good Charlotte" is back, and they’re bringing their rawest, most authentic energy yet. The rock superstars—twin brothers Joel Madden (vocals) and Benji Madden (guitar, vocals), alongside Paul Thomas (bass) and Billy Martin (guitar, keyboards)—have spent nearly three decades crafting anthems for the underdogs, the dreamers, and the broken. Their newest album, "Motel Du Cap" is a genre-bending, bold new album rooted in raw emotion and real connection. The lead single “Rejects” is an anthem for misfits who refuse to conform while the focus track “I Don’t Work Here Anymore” is about choosing yourself and having the courage to walk away from what no longer serves you. "Motel Du Cap" isn’t just an album—it’s a testament to a band that’s never stopped evolving, never stopped growing, and never stopped believing in the power of a good song. From their humble beginnings in Waldorf, Maryland, to selling over 11 million albums worldwide with hits like “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” and “The Anthem,” "Good Charlotte" has always worn their hearts on their sleeves. With over 2.3 Billion streams to date, 7 RIAA Certified Releases, 6 Top 10 Alt Radio Singles and 4 Top 20 Singles on the Billboard Hot 100, "Good Charlotte" remains a dynamic force in music with a legacy of evolution, authenticity, and lasting influence.
