Anthony Jeselnik is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian. Over the past 25 years, he has performed all across the globe and has written, produced and starred in three Netflix comedy specials: "Thoughts and Prayers," "Fire in the Maternity Ward," and his latest, "Bones and All," all of which released to rave reviews. Jeselnik also wrote, produced and starred in the comedy special "Caligula" and the stand-up album "Shakespeare." In addition to his stand-up, Jeselnik is an Emmy-nominated writer who created, produced, and starred in the cult-classic television series "Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik" and "The Jeselnik Offensive," alongside his breakout performances on "The Roast of Donald Trump" and "The Roast of Charlie Sheen." In 2026 Anthony launched the monthly Jeselnik Book Club, sharing his love of literature and hatred of everything else with the world. University City High School Performing Arts Department presents "You Can’t Take It With You," a 1930s unique classic written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. UCHS Theatre teacher and Alumni Nia Hilton will be directing the show. "You Can’t Take It With You" is a three-act comedy following the eccentric Vanderhof family whose members spend their days pursuing joyful hobbies rather than traditional work. Chaos ensues when granddaughter Alice falls in love with Tony Kirby, a man from a stiff and conventional Wall Street family, and their worlds collide disastrously. Shows will be performed at the UCHS Auditorium on Wednesday, October 7 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., Thursday, October 8 at 7 p.m., and Friday, October 9 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults, for purchase at the door or pre-purchase at www.uchsperformingarts.org

Join us for the 23rd Annual Beautify Chula Vista Day—a powerful community cleanup event hosted by the City of Chula Vista in partnership with the South Bay Sustainable Communities Network. For more than two decades, this annual tradition has brought together thousands of dedicated volunteers to help preserve and enhance the beauty of our community. In 2025, more than 500 volunteers removed thousands of pounds of litter, painted out graffiti, and helped restore neighborhoods, creeks, and canyons throughout Chula Vista. Their commitment and hard work continue to make a meaningful impact and inspire positive change across our city. As we celebrate the 23rd year of Beautify Chula Vista Day in 2026, we look forward to introducing exciting new cleanup and beautification projects throughout Chula Vista, creating even more opportunities for our community to come together in service and civic pride. We invite individuals, families, students, community organizations, and businesses to join us in building a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful Chula Vista—one project at a time.
