They will be hosting their 4th Annual "BOUQUET RIDE" Riders will depart California Bicycle (7462 La Jolla Bvd, La Jolla) for a casual family ride heading towards Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. The ride to Fort Rosecrans is in honor of their beloved son, CPL Gregory Millard (AKA Shortie). Flowers will be laid at his final resting place at the conclusion of the ride. Previous events were a huge success with many riders and almost too many flowers to carry on the bicycles! This year, grab some friends and let's blow it out of this world with even more riders and bouquets! There will be a few bicycles setup with large baskets to carry extra flowers, there will also be an another vehicle that will carry additional flowers and meet the riding group at Fort Rosecrans. Ms. Jones is a multi-GRAMMY® winning singer and pianist who loves playing music with people, so she recently started her own podcast, "Playing Along", to do just that. On March 8th she will release her ninth solo studio album Visions, a collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Leon Michels. Visions is a vibrant and joyous 12-song set that finds Jones singing about feeling free, wanting to dance, making it right, and acceptance of what life brings. It’s the yang to the yin that was Pick Me Up Off The Floor, Jones’ last album of new original songs which was released early in the pandemic lockdown of 2020 and foreshadowed many of the dark emotions of that period. Join us for a special program to honor and remember over 1.2 million American men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country. At Miramar National Cemetery, there are over 30,000 veterans and their families interred. While on the hallowed grounds, attendees will be able to visit the Memorial Walkway, POW Liberation Memorial, and Veterans Tribute Tower and Carillon. Several local WWII D-Day Veterans will be in attendance. Speakers include Dr. Gregory A. Daddis, U.S. Army (Ret.), Director of the SDSU Center of War and Society, and Consul General of France Julie Duhaut-Bedos. The ceremony is open to the public, free to attend, and there will be plenty of free parking. When: Sunday, May 26 at 1 p.m. Where: Miramar National Cemetery Amphitheater

The STRAY CATS, the band that put Rockabilly music back on the record charts in the early '80s, scored several big hits on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to a striking visual 1950’s style brought “up to date” with exaggerated pompadours and colorful tattoos and as well as genuine musical chops that evoked the best players of rockabilly's original heyday. Formed by guitarist/vocalist Brian Setzer, upright bass player Lee Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom in the Long Island town of Massapequa, NY, in 1979, the trio shared a love for Rockabilly music. After banging around New York for a few months in the summer of 1980, and seeing a pompadoured kid on the cover of UK magazine NME, they hopped a plane to London where a rockabilly revival movement was just beginning to emerge. Their massive hits and videos include “Runaway Boys," "Rock This Town," "Stray Cat Strut” "(She's) Sexy + 17" and "I Won't Stand in Your Way."
