  • Hosted by Scripps Cancer Center, this free class provides a 60-minute restorative yoga and sound therapy experience that focuses on relaxation and rejuvenation though body movement and music. Participants can choose to rest comfortably or gently move through simple stretches while receiving the healing benefits of sound from a variety of instruments: singing bowls, chimes, drums and gongs. Cushioned mats and bolster cushions are available for use. We recommend participants bring a yoga blanket or light covering.   • In celebration of its third anniversary, the Golden State Ballet presents TRIFECTA, June 2 at San Diego Civic Theatre, and June 4 at The Irvine Barclay Theatre. TRIFECTA is an incredible program of winning contemporary masterworks from the past, present, and future. This end-of-season program brings together a trifecta of the most recognizable names in contemporary ballet. For those patrons seeing the show at the San Diego Civic Theatre, they will be treated to a 13-piece live orchestra. The Sunday, June 2 San Diego performance will take place at 2:00 p.m. The show runs about two hours, including two intermissions.   • Join us for the 13th Annual Vista Strawberry Festival on Sunday, May 26th, Memorial Day Weekend! Start your day with a 5K run at 7:30 a.m. Enter the costume contest and participate in the strawberry pie eating contest at Noon or the Strawberry Ice Cream Sundae eating contest at 1:30 p.m. There will be live music and entertainment, on four stages, a beer garden, a food court with a wide variety of menus and a street fair filled with vendors of all types. Be sure to watch the crowning of Little Miss Strawberry or have your photo taken with Festival Queen Yvon Nguyen and her court! It's a great time and a "don't miss" event! Bring the whole family!   • Fáilte! Welcome to the 10th annual West Coast Sevens – Gaelic Games hosted by San Diego GAA. The West Coast Sevens is an annual Gaelic Sports tournament held in San Diego over Memorial Day Weekend May 25, 2024. Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) clubs from around the world play traditional Irish field sports such as men’s and ladies Gaelic football, Hurling and Camogie and youth. Teams from across the U.S. and Canada will be coming to San Diego to compete on Southwestern's fields. Including our own lcoal teams - Setanta, Na Fianna Ladies, and St. Peter's Hurling Club. Come on down with the family for a fun day that will also include food, drink, great sports, and time with the Irish community. No charge to watch the games and cheer for your favorite teams.   • Lakeside's River Park Conservancy is offering free guided nature walks Saturday mornings 8-10 a.m. The River Park sits on 100 acres of restored wetlands on the San Diego River in Lakeside. Up to 10 guests will walk the trail and in riverbed areas not usually open to the public. We will touch on the natural history of the watershed and the plants and animals found here today.
