  • The second in a series of auctions of Bob Ross paintings to benefit public television stations will take place on January 27, beginning at 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. EST). The auction will be held at the Bonhams Skinner location in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and will also be available to users live via the online auction site. International auction house Bonhams, in collaboration with American Public Television, will offer a total of 30 original paintings by beloved Joy of Painting host and American artist Bob Ross (1942–1995) across a series of auctions. The paintings were generously donated by Bob Ross, Inc., specifically to benefit public television.100% of the net sales proceeds from the auctions will be directed in support of public television stations nationwide. How to Participate: Those who wish to bid should REGISTER IN ADVANCE AT THE BONHAMS WEBSITE. If you would just like to watch, you can visit the same page shortly before the auction begins. A link to view the sale live will appear about 30 minutes prior to the start of the sale. Registration is not required for viewing only.   • The Maritime Museum of San Diego invites new volunteers to train as docents and help bring maritime history to life at Star of India Wharf. Through an engaging 11-week series of lectures, readings, and guided tours aboard historic vessels, participants learn to interpret artifacts, guide visitors, and share the rich seafaring heritage preserved within the Museum’s fleet. Trainings are held consecutive Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from January 20-March 31, 2026 at the Maritime Museum on the upper deck of the 1898 Victorian-era steam ferryboat Berkeley.
