Holiday Lights in Downtown El Cajon returns to transform the heart of Downtown El Cajon into a dazzling festive wonderland on Sunday, December 6, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This free, community-wide event brings the holiday spirit to life with a microbubbles Snow Zone, live music, kids’ train rides, photos with Santa, and a festive artisan market featuring local vendors. The evening culminates in a tree lighting ceremony at 6:30pm led by the Mayor Bill Wells in Prescott Promenade, kicking-off the season in style. With something for everyone — shopping, activities, music, and plenty of photo-worthy moments — Holiday Lights in Downtown El Cajon remains one of the region’s most anticipated seasonal events. After selling out the first year, Diplo's Run Club returns to San Diego, California this November 21! Home to several Dance Music festivals, America’s Finest City is known for its vibrant electronic music scene with past performances from Diplo himself at Nova San Diego and the Mad Decent Block Party. This fall, you can catch another epic performance at the main stage in Gallagher Square at Petco Park after Diplo’s Run Club 5K. Starting and finishing at Gallagher Square, the 5K run will take you through the historic Gaslamp Quarter, showing off the best of downtown San Diego. Library Shop Mission Hills is so excited to welcome one of our favorite middle-grade novelists, Sara Pennypacker ("Pax," "Clementine") for her latest novel, "The Lion’s Run"! This WWII story follows the courage of a young animal lover living in France as he joins the Resistance. This presentation will include an author talk with Sara Pennypacker, a Q&A and a book signing. While the book is geared towards middle-grade readers, readers of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend! Proceeds from all book sales support the San Diego Public Library. Free to attend. The 60th Annual Borrego Days Desert Festival is a family friendly for all ages. The free two day event includes a vintage aircraft flyover, main street parade, outdoor festival with a car show, vendors of all types, food truck, free non-stop live entertainment, kids zone, adult beer garden and more.

Cellist Jaemin Han gained international recognition in 2021 as the youngest-ever winner of the Grand Prix at the prestigious George Enescu International Competition. Additional accolades such as a prize at the Geneva International Music Competition have established him as one of the standout young soloists of his generation.
