Join us for a transformative day of mindfulness and creative exploration. Art & Wellness is a new monthly series focusing on artful meditation, movement, and interactive workshops at the Center Museum. Admission to the exhibitions is included with each session ticket. *Please note that a yoga mat is required for each session. No experience is necessary to participate. All ages are welcome. Additional events in this series: -Sound Meditation and Movement with Noriko Whitfield -Meditation 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM -$30 Unite body, mind, and art through sound meditation and healing movement guided by Noriko Whitfield. This immersive and experiential workshop utilizes sound, scent, movement, and breath in a thoughtfully guided activation designed to explore spirituality via our sensory systems. From the organizers: It's a celebration of 50 years of Hip Hop and its roots at the Black Music Month Celebration 2023. African American Music Appreciation Month, originally called Black Music Month, was created by Kenny Gamble, Dyana Williams, and radio DJ Ed Wright and became official under President Jimmy Carter on June 7th, 1979 by celebrating on the White House lawn. Join us at the Logan Heights library as we celebrate this special month, as well as the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and its roots, with a high energy performance that will be sure to get your toes tapping.
